CRANKSHAFT BEARING END PLAY SETUP TOOL
- This tool is used on Big Twin® engines to set up crankshaft bearing endplay. The tool consists of a large precision machined bolt and nut. The outer bearing races are pressed into the crankcase. Then the inner races along with the shims are assembled in the crankcase using the Crankshaft Bearing Endplay Setup Tool.
- Using a dial indicator, endplay is then measured. Disassemble and change shims until desired endplay is reached. The diameter of the bolt is turned slightly smaller than the actual crankshaft diameter allowing the inner bearing races to be installed and removed without pressing them on or off as you would if you were using a crankshaft.
- This allows for much faster changing of shims, and therefore faster setup time.
